Access Skills Training (AST) partners with Croxton School to enable them to deliver the Certificate II in Horticulture (AHC20410). Students from Croxton School, Ascot Vale Special School and Hume Valley School all participate in the training and each school site is enhanced with their gardens being maintained and developed. The local community has access to the kitchen garden at Croxton School and often help to look after the garden and resident chickens over the school holidays. The students are also involved in the maintenance and redesign of the Therapeutic Garden at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre which is enjoyed by patients with a brain or spinal injury as part of a horticulture therapy program. AST proudly attended a recent presentation by all three cluster schools which showcased the achievements of the students and celebrated their outcomes.
